🔥The Fire of God: A Biblical & Personal Revelation of Divine Power🔥

I. Introduction

  • Define the concept of God’s fire and its significance in Scripture.
  • Explain how it symbolizes His presence, purification, and power.
  • Personal motivation—why this topic is important for ministry.

II. Biblical Understanding of the Fire of God

  • Fire as God’s Presence

    (Exodus 3:2, Exodus 13:21, Hebrews 12:29, Acts 2:3).
  • Exodus 3:2 KJV "And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed."
  • Exodus 13:21 KJV  "And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: Exo 13:22  He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people."
  • Hebrews 12:29 KJV  "For our God is a consuming fire."
  • Acts 2:3 KJV  "And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them."
  • Fire as Refinement & Purification

    (Malachi 3:2, 1 Peter 1:7, Isaiah 1:25).
  • Malachi 3:2 KJV  But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:
Mal 3:3  And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.
  • Fire as Power & Judgment (1 Kings 18:38, 2 Kings 1:10-12, Matthew 3:11).

  • 1Kings 18:37 KJV "Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
1Ki 18:38  Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. 1Ki 18:39  And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God."
  • 2Kings 1:10 KJV  "And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.
2Ki 1:11  Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly.
2Ki 1:12  And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty."
  • Matthew 3:11 KJV "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
Mat 3:12  Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
  • Matthew 18:20 KJV   "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." (I added this verse, though it doesn't specifically mention the fire, it does imply that the fire is in their midst, for it's the Fire of the Lord that's the Power of the Lord, just as Jesus said, "Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you." (Acts 1:8) and it was confirmed visibly on the day of Pentecost, Acts 2:3 KJV Act 2:3 KJV  "And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them."
  • Connection to the Holy Spirit’s empowerment (Acts 1:8, Acts 2:1-4).

  • Acts 1:8 KJV  "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
